About Wordscapes Solver

Wordscapes Solver is a free word-finding tool for people who play letter-circle puzzle games. You type in the letters your puzzle gives you, and it returns every valid word those letters can spell, grouped by length. There is no account, no download, and no limit on how many times you can use it.

The site exists because the alternative is scrolling a list of every four-letter word in the language hoping one fits. A solver narrows that to the handful of words your specific letters can actually make, which turns a stuck puzzle back into a solvable one.

How the tool works

Everything runs in your browser. When you load the page, the site downloads a dictionary file of roughly 240,000 English words. When you enter letters and press Solve, your browser checks every word in that dictionary against the letters you supplied and keeps the ones that can be built from a subset of them. Nothing you type is sent to a server, because there is no server doing the work. The computation happens right there on your own device.

That design has a side effect worth knowing about: the first solve after loading the page can take a second or two while the dictionary downloads. Every solve after that is instant.

Where the word list comes from

The dictionary is a standard open English word list, filtered to lowercase words between three and twelve letters. It contains common words, obscure ones, and a good deal of vocabulary you will never use in conversation, which is exactly what a puzzle solver needs.

It is not the same list the games themselves use. Wordscapes and Word Connect maintain their own internal dictionaries, which are broader in some places and narrower in others. If a word appears here but not in your game, that difference is why. If a word appears in your game but not here, the reverse is true.
